Assabet Valley

Taken during their technical program week, this course is designed for students in grades 10 who are preparing to take the MCAS examination, and students in grade 11 who are preparing for cooperative opportunities and college and career placement after graduation. 

 

Emphasis will be on increasing a student’s written language skills through completion of writing prompts and assignments directly related to DESE CTE Frameworks Strand 3 Embedded Academics, Strand 4 Employability and Strand 5 Management and Entrepreneurship.

 

Grade 11 students will produce resumes, college essays, cover letters, a portfolio, job searches, job applications, and other curricula for post-secondary planning for college, workforce, civil service, or the military upon graduation.

 

Career Focused Writing is a 45 day course and is a graduation requirement.
